You do not turn 25 everyday and this calls for a huge celebration. Last year when my boyfriend was to complete half of a half century in this world, I wanted to celebrate it such a way that he could cherish it forever.

First, I made a list of things to do and wrote down the names of people I wanted to call on for the party (carefully avoiding overly gorgeous girls and irritating friends). It was about 20 people so I wanted to through a party at a good open space, where you do not simply thump to the sounds of the DJ in a dark room, but actually get to see each other’s faces in the light and talk to each other. I chose a poolside venue for it.

I got in contact with a personalised birthday cards designing site online, chose to make a customized birthday card for my special one, and sent invites with his picture on them. That was another surprise for him, because only he had not received one.

Next, I wanted to give him 25 gifts for his 25 years in the world. I was already collecting these gifts over a span of 6 months and finally got the masterpieces ready. Each gift was to make him revisit his life in the past 25 years and each had its own importance. Yeah well, I do know it sounds cliché and straight out of a movie, but the truth is that we all want our lives to be like a fairy tale at least once. We are the common people, and we like common and cute things!

I carefully selected a beautiful cake for him, which again had our picture on it, adding to the specialty of the occasion. The menu, the drinks and the decor, were all selected according to his likes and dislikes, because this  was one day I wanted him to feel loved cared and blessed to have us around!(Also it was my birthday next and he had to know to what extent the bar was raised..Wink :p)

All went as planned and when he entered the venue, thanks to my tricks and plans, he was greeted by friends and family. He also saw coasters, coffee mugs, and personalised birthday cards of himself, which I had been made from the printing firm. He was shocked out of his wits, and had the best time of his life.

I guess I did succeed in making his day memorable, special, and was able to express how truly I thank god for him. You can make your special one’s big days extraordinary too, just follow my lead! Find more at http://www.linkedin.com/pub/snap-chapter/53/7b/37b
